My Dear Fellow Beer Drinkers,

Last weekend Beer and Business had the distinct honor of being the official cocktail party of Global Entrepreneurship Week. In fact, two of the top competitors in the GEW Pitch Competition got to strut their stuff and show us just how awesome Hawaii start ups can be. EssereMana blew away the audience with their incredible Live Entertainment play in Kauai and CashFlow Envelope is trying to change the world by helping you save money.

Hawaii Business magazine and I would to like to extend a very special thank you to HiBeam, Puna Geothermal, Kolohala Venture Fund, and Adecco for their sponsorship and support. Also, mahalo to the Hawaii Venture Capital Association, the Hawaii Science and Technology Council, and Entrepreneurs Foundation for their continued support. And of course, a big thank you to Jackie Funasaki who welcomed everyone, and Marta Czajkowska, our photographer.

The event was a huge success with a turn out of over 140 people. As always the Hukilau staff were amazing. Thank you so much to Ken Takahashi for his generosity. You can sign-up for Hukilau’s twitter feed at http://twitter.com/hukilauhonolulu. Also, Hukilau can host corporate meetings as well - just talk to Ken.  A big thank you to Matt Muccio from Techniques Hawaii for providing the awesome A/V equipment.

The biggest thank you goes to you, our guests. This event is only possible because you show up and make it awesome. Thank you for giving us a reason to drink beer, make friends, innovate, inspire, do business, and relax!

Stay tuned for the next Beer and Business Feb. 9!

Cheers,

Lorenz
